Chinese calligraphy is always appreciated as a kind of art.
The differences
are between the ancient/traditional and modern styles which use brushes and ball pens respectively.
The challenge
of using brushes is the different thickness and size of the brushes. It ranges from a bit thinner than a regular pencil
to as big as a bloom.

|
When it comes to a brush big like a bloom, you need to handle it not only with both
hands, but also the energy of your whole body.
The effect of different thickness obviously makes the size of the
calligraphy varied. Plus, by looking at/appreciating the calligraphy itself, you can determine the skills of the calligrapher.
|
|
A tip for you if you don't know how to appreciate the Chinese calligraphy.
If the artist handles the brush well, not only the symbols look fabulous, but also the strokes don't smear.
One of the advantages of using brushes is to allow you to write in different traditional styles, such as script type, standard
script, clerical type and so forth.
|
|
However, using ball pen only allow you to the standard script because the fine line of
the ball pen does not show the effect of the other styles as much as the brush.
Of course, no matter what you use
in writing the Chinese symbols, every person's calligraphy has its own personalities. As a result, each calligrapher's
work will be appreciated in a different ways.
